Introducing Sweetsoil Rehydrates
Introducing Sweetsoil Rehydrates
Sweetsoil Rehydrates is a concept business that processes the very freshest in-season vegetables into dehydrated products for you to enjoy all year round. With Sweetsoil Rehydrates, you can have the taste and nutrition of fresh vegetables without the need for refrigeration or freezing.
NOTE: This is a concept business and has not yet launched. It is purely a fictitious artifact of Paul Bruce working through the Farm Business Planning course with New Entry Sustainable Farm Project of Beverly MA and not a real business.
What We Produce
Currently, Sweetsoil Rehydrates as a concept is focused on processing tomatoes, peppers, beets, and onions along with limited runs of other fruits and vegetables produced on the North Shore of Massachusetts.
Exclusively Organic and Local
If you’ve received some samples of our future products, you can be sure of the following:
- All produce was grown organically by farmers
- All produce was dehydrated less than 24 hours from being harvested
- All appropriate home kitchen health and safety measures were taken during the dehydrating process; in the future, this will be performed in a commercial kitchen
- All vegetable varieties are from Johnny’s Selected Seeds of Maine
- No additives or preservatives are used other than the dehydration process
If you like what you’ve tried already, feel free to contact Paul Bruce.

For Farms and Growers
Sweetsoil Rehydrates helps organic growers sell dried produce to consumers without additional time-spend or cost. Our dried goods reach snack, beverage, and home kitchen markets whose consumers value fruit and vegetable ingredients with no additives or preservatives all year round. We are a small business of less than 20 full-time employees just like many of the farms and growers that we serve.
Where is Sweetsoil Rehydrates Located?
Sweetsoil Rehydrates is headquartered in Gloucester Massachusetts with processing facilities in multiple locations around the United States. We operate out of regional commercial kitchens using certified preservation practices and technologies to ensure the highest quality and safety standards in our products. Resale is maintained within the state of harvest, minimizing cross-regional regulatory complexity and costly tax fees, supporting local economies, farmer’s markets, and community storefronts.
Who is Behind Sweetsoil Rehydrates?
Sweetsoil Rehydrates is a for-profit cooperative with voting members consisting of a board of trustees, agricultural resource businesses, retail partners, and employees. Our code of conduct extends from farm to table, sourcing to distribution, and operation to administration.
As a concept, Paul Bruce is the founder and CEO of Sweetsoil Rehydrates. He is a farmer and entrepreneur with a passion for sustainable agriculture and a commitment to creating a better future for all.
